Kincade Productions’ Mission to Develop the Workforce in the Film Industry

Today's #featurefriday introduces our client, Kincade Productions. Co-founded by sisters Robin and Susan Kincade, the company is pioneering an essential online education course that addresses a vital workforce development gap in the film industry. Their program, "Be A Successful Production Assistant," is an essential stepping stone for those embarking on a career in film production.

Kincade Productions has forged partnerships with over a dozen high school career technical education programs in underserved areas throughout California, offering students a platform to acquire invaluable industry insights and skills. This initiative not only provides practical learning opportunities but also aligns with the broader objectives of California's recently established Creative Economy Workgroup, which, among other things, is dedicated to developing a workforce plan that supports the growth and economic vibrancy of the state's creative sectors.

The course from Kincade Productions covers a wide range of topics, equipping students with the fundamental aspects of becoming a Production Assistant—a critical entry-level role in film production. It spans from technical skills, such as handling equipment, to the nuances of on-set dynamics and etiquette. This comprehensive approach ensures that students are not only educated but also well-prepared to meet the practical challenges of the industry.
